Project Alpha: Medieval Tower Defense x FPS Hybrid

Overview

This project is a sandbox tower defense game featuring medieval themes, developed as a collaborative effort for IT286 at NJIT. Players act as the kingdom's commander, strategically placing military forces to protect the castle.

Core Systems

  • Hybrid Perspective: Switch between commander view and troop perspective for direct combat.
  • Economy: Currency system tied to enemy kills for purchasing towers.
  • Win/Loss: Real-time castle health tracking and wave management.

Technical Contributions

1. Level Design & Difficulty Scaling
  • Designed three distinct maps with Unity Tilemaps to balance strategy and combat.
2. UI/UX & Menu Systems
  • Developed core menu architecture and custom HUD icons using Photoshop and Unity UI.
